Crowded House Eden Sessions
The Eden Sessions got off to a joyous start with Crowded House playing the first show of their Gravity Stairs Tour. The Australasian rock icons performed a decades-spanning set in front of a packed Eden crowd, playing songs from their new album Gravity Stairs - and they sound as invigoratingly wonderful as ever. The band kicked off their two-hour show with World Where You Live from their 1986 self-titled debut, then straight into new song Oh Hi. A stellar performance of Fall at Your Feet gave us those incredible harmonies and received a huge hand from the packed Eden crowd. Joining Crowded House as their special guest was New Zealander Liam Finn.
Fatboy Slim-Eden Project 2024
SATURDAY NIGHT AND THE EDEN PROJECT IS FILLED TO THE BRIM WITH A CROWD RANGING FROM EX-RAVERS TO YOUNG TEENS AND STUDENTS ALL WAITING FOR SUPERSTAR DJ FATBOY SLIM TO ENTER THE STAGE. WHEN HE DID, A HEFTY HEADLINE SET RESULTED, RUNNING TO OVER TWO HOURS. NORMAN COOK REMAINS ONE OF THE BEST DJS OF OUR TIME; HE SHOWED NO SIGNS OF STOPPING AND KEPT HIS ENERGY UP THE WHOLE NIGHT. AT ALMOST SIXTY YEARS NORMAN COOK, AKA FATBOY SLIM, IS CONSIDERED BY RAVERS AS THE OG OF ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC – OR EDM AS SOME MIGHT SAY.

The producer achieved several hits in a time when the genre was making modest progress on the contemporary charts, with just a few tracks breaking into regular mainstream rotation. While many producers faded into obscurity, some are now commanding the global stage, headlining at crowded festivals and shows. The evening was ignited by a remix of Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now," setting the precedent for many tracks to follow. There was a palpable feeling that, even without the pulsating dance beats, the predominantly young crowd — who seemed young enough to have been in preschool during Fatboy Slim's heyday — were utterly captivated by the house music and remixes of past chart-toppers.

Cook seems to be having the time of his life on the eden stage as he proceeds to parody an American church preacher, instructing the crowd to sit down while he spoke; unsurprisingly, this moment of calm is shortlived, and everyone resumes their positions as the music continued.
Cook can truly put on a show – the use of lighting and pyrotechnics is particularly breathtaking, and the aforementioned screen is used throughout to project trippy images and videos across the whole arena, often showing close-ups of Cook’s delighted face.
